What happened on September 11, 2001?

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the attack that changed our nation. On September 11, 2001 at approximately 8:46 a.m.American Airlines Flight 11 was flown into the north tower of the World Trade Center. At fist, everyone believed it was a accident but another plane, United Airlines Flight 175, was flown into the south tower at 9:02 a.m. The United States was clearly under attack. Around 9:37 a.m., American Airlines Flight 77 was flown into the Pentagon, the headquarters of America’s military operations. Flight 93 was intended to hit somewhere around Washington, D.C., but the brave men and women from that flight retook the plane, crashing it into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Innocent people lost their lives on September 11. It is sad what happened and I feel sorry for the families of people who died in this event. Rest in peace to every brave person that died. I was about nine years old when this happened. I remember coming home from school and my mom was watching the news, I remember seeing a lot of smoke, fire, people screaming & crying. I hope one day to visit the memorial. RIP. Where were you when this tragic event happened?
